Finding Calm in Chaos

The term “ Social distancing” , recently coined in the COVID phase is possibly a misnomer; considering the distancing that we already have in our lives. What we can implement is a physical separation let alone from a cognitive perspective. Gone are those days when we used to forcibly bond with people or relatives just for the sake of maintaining relationships. However, the lock-down separation seems to affect, just because its imposed upon us. Even if it weren’t the case, people are seldom able to excavate their souls and bring out their feelings with their family now-a-days. A chronic loneliness lies within each of us which is not realized unless we sit back and reflect. The entire objective of starting and/or having a family takes a backseat eventually and we must uphold the society wheel. Our parents say, quote,” The journey does matter, not the destination”. What if we are just eyeing destinations, and forgetting to enjoy ourselves during the journey? Maybe sometimes, we need to re

An Ascend To Remember

Zorr se bolo…(JAI MATA DI)   Serendipities in life always have some purpose or significance that we often fail to understand. Its often hard to believe but some occurrences make you believe in the supreme power controlling us. One Such incident occurred while there was an ongoing discussion at our workplace regarding Rajma Chawal   when one of our colleagues mentioned about how Vaishno Devi offers tasty Rajma Chawal en route. And thus, we did embark upon a new journey to the holy shrine to seek blessings of the Deities. It sometimes does seem like most of our religious beliefs are some sort of preconceived notions. But time proves it otherwise. Initially the plan was a weekend getaway of 11 of the team in the chilly month of December. But eventually, it turned out to be an unplanned visit of 5 of us (Shortlisted by the Goddess herself!!!). Various tumultuous scenarios forced the rest to cancel the trip. Inspite of that, in a split- second decision, we decided to go ahead come what

Have you ever realized that wandering across the meadows is   way better than wandering in the whirlpool of our own thoughts ? Quite often there ought to be few getaways in the itinerary of life. It is a means of blossoming or in actual terms, rejuvenating ourselves amidst our daily chores and indulgements. Quite recently, I did manage to find my own getaway for the weekend , thanks to an organized trip with colleagues and seniors. Unaware of what was in store for us, we definitely did seek  a host of activities following us through our trip. There was this trip to Chail, a heavenly abode about 44 kms from Shimla. We had anticipated a resort stay lined up with few activities and a trek for sure. What we had missed out on, was that its not the destination, but the journey that matters more. While I had signed up for it, I didn’t have even a shred of feeling that it would eventually be a time turner. We all were quite enthusiastic   on the day of the trip. Almost half—a-century of ou

Right mix of chalk and challenges

Walking across the fields, watching the tulips stir; I  smile on the hues in my life,                                                                                                                  because of you teacher...... Quite often, while we sit down to introspect on a diverse array of events, we realize that they are basically an outcome of permutations carried out all along. Had we moved the pawn, there would have been an altogether different scenario. But then, we went for the queen and landed up in this cell. Alas! If I had a different move, I would have gotten into something better. What we fail to realize is that life is too short for self-accusation. But few of our lot are lucky enough to have someone who has our back at the end of the day. For Building castles in reality, we need someone who does the groundwork for us. While we said this to ourselves, God eavesdropped on us and sent us, our teachers. Their presence graces our lives and streamlines it t

Half-Friend

What is this life if full of care,     & we,ve   no friend with whom we share?         With the age of Renaissance in relationships, the one with the least changes are that of   friendship. In the circumstances that we are in, this comes by a stroke a luck, when the Lords   bestow upon us, someone to walk alongside us in   our journeys ahead.   While we appreciate   this invaluable bonding, we   don’t respect it entirely these days. Currently there is a mutated     version of friendship or rather “ Convenience Friendship” . We require friends to be at our   disposal when we want them to, while we reciprocate when we are comfortable and at our best.         It certainly is something to reflect upon, on this very day while updating our WhatsApp Status   with our BFFs. What people fail to realize is that any act of selflessness   reinforces a   relationship, and scales it to higher levels. In that case, I would suggest tailormade remedies   s
